Abstract

Popley Fields Community Centre, Basingstoke, doubles as a leisure centre. The design is the result of close consultation with the local community. An Art for Architecture grant allowed for the inclusion of sculpture by Richard Farrington [based on drawings by local children] and stained glass by Sasha Ward. Working details of the zinc pitched roof and a wooden rooflight in cedar. Architects: Feilden Clegg Architects.
