Abstract
Transformation of former school, extension of the original building and the additions of a new annexe to form the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts was funded by private and public money. Facilities include auditorium, theatre, bar, restaurant, practice and recording studios. Acoustically sensitive spaces have been sited in the new annexe. Includes cost summary and working details of a projecting eaves canopy and curved stair enclosure. Architects: Brock Carmichael Associates.
