Abstract

Focuses on the £80 million, 3,000-tonne retractable roof over Wimbledon's centre court at the 2009 tournament. The roof covers an area of 5,200m² when extended and is made up of nine moving steel trusses, supporting a folding, concertina-like, translucent fabric.
