Abstract

Looks at the restoration of the Chapel of San Francisco de Assisi at Pampulha, central Brazil. The project involved complete refurbishment inside and out, new lighting, improved landscaping and new signage. Includes case study on repairs to the concrete nave which were the most challenging part of the restoration. Architect: Oscar Niemeyer.
