Abstract

Restoration of Plas Mawr, an Elizabethan town house in Conwy, North Wales. Main repairs included rendering the exterior with a lime wash, replacing timber beams, replacing roof fixings with oak pegs, installing zinc downpipes and gutters, re-bonding of plasterwork, re-painting using washable water-based paints, re-instating floors of slate and timber and installing replacement furniture and fabrics.
